Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime are all included on most TVs produced in these, but the entertainment options don’t end there. Of course, instead of buying a brand new set-top box for streaming, if you’ve bought a TV in the past few years, you’ll likely be able to stream all of your favorite options right from your TV remote. From Roku’s full line of streaming devices to Google’s Chromecast and Apple TV, there’s no shortage of streaming boxes and sticks that plug into the back of your TV and deliver hours of streaming entertainment on the Internet. When it comes to watching your favorite shows and movies at home, it can be difficult to decide which streaming device to use. If I connect my chromecast to the TV and play the same movies it works even with transcoding the video as well as audio and subtitles.Īnother thing to mention is that if I open the video file using the TV's player from Plex as a source all works fine, so this is definitely an app issue. The How To Stream Plex on Samsung’s Smart TV I have even changed the transcode settings to make my CPU hurt for testing purposes but the result is the same. Even tho Plex plays the movie in direct stream mode since it needs to transcode the subtitle (quite retarded bth), there shouldn't be any performance issues. The server has an older i5 cpu, 8GB of RAM and runs plex from SSD. My TV is connected via 1Gpbs LAN and other streaming apps like Netflix, HBO Go or YouTube have no problems, so I don't think it's network related. You can imagine doing this 2-3 times a movie is annoying. I have to press back and then play and it works. I get the there little dots in the middle of the screen, like it's buffering, and that's it. While watching movies or TV shows plex just stops. I got so used to Orca's app that the new 'official' Plex was a bit of a letdown, but that's not what this is about. I just got a new Samsung MU7000 Series to replace my old F5000 TV and the first thing I have installed was plex. Clients, w/ versions, if applicable: Tizen 3.0
